Is Drew Carey’s Price Right?
CBS may finally have the perfect host for “The Price Is Right.”
Drew Carey told critics at the summer press tour in Beverly Hills today that he’s in contract negotiations to host the daytime game show. While he says no one can fill Bob Barker’s microphone, he’d be happy to host if everything works out.
“Right now it’s down to the title. If they change the title to `Big Golden Wheel,’ then I’m on,” joked Carey, who is the host of the new CBS game show “Power of 10.” “But I wouldn’t go into negotiations if I wasn’t serious about hosting it.”

Cary says you have to treat the show with respect, because it has earned it. Plus, it fills the requirement for what he’s looking for in his post-“The Drew Carey Show” life.
“It has to be fun, easy to do and not work,” Carey says. “And it would be fun, not work to do the show.”

Although I think Drew Carey is tremendously funny and entertaining, I believe that John O’Hurley (Elaine’s boss on Seinfeld and host of Family Fued) would have been a better fit for The Price Is Right.

I just heard the news that Drew Carey is Bob Barker’s replacement as host for “The Price is Right,” and I’m appalled that someone with some class such as John O’Hurley wasn’t chosen. I’m very disappointed that someone who is so crude in his actions and language would be named to a replace someone who as cherished as Bob Barker. I’ve been a faithful fan of “The Price is Right,” but that has just changed.

GREAT CHOICE!!! He is perfect and will add life to the show. While I like John O’Hurley I think he stunk on the Family Feud, his voice was annoying in that game show context. Their is a better fit for John somewhere. GO DREW! In a survey done in conservative Cincinnati, Ohio 70% thought Drew was a good choice.

I agree ONE HUNDRED PERCENT with these last 2 postings! DREW CAREY will NOT be able to fill the classy shoes that at least Bob filled during the show. John O Hurley?..GREAT CHOICE! Drew Carey is a pig just like his co-worker would call him on his show. He is ONLY about money, watch his after letterman interviews, what a donkey! GRR. -BTW he turned down an offer for TPIR one month ago, because the money wasn’t high enough, what a dork. SEEya All!

No to Drew Carey – he does not fit the part at all…someone with a polished dignity like Bab Barker had fits better – not a comedian……it is sad to see the show go away like it might.

The host must be different. Bob Barker was perfect, but now the show must be

Yes, Drew Carey makes me laugh my head off which is a good thing. But he isnt’t my
hero on “The Price is Right”! Bob I miss u and want you to come back, we all do. No one
can ever replace you on the show and THAT IS A FACT!!!!
